Men's Nationals 2026!! Wow what a weekend for us as a club. We had many members represent our club at the nationals this year and some of our members had a very successful weekend! 

The first person we have to mention is Charlie Holloway. Charlie competed in Class 3 and 5 over the course of the weekend and made finals in both classes. Charlie was racing his dad's class 3 which wasn't the first time charlie has been piloting the E34 machine. Charlie picked up a 2nd place pot in the class 3 but that wasn't enough for him. Charlie has been racing his class 5 for some time now and has previously won the nationals in the E9 machine officially once before back in 2024. Charlie was crowned the 2026 class 5 national champion and then went on to win the champion of champions race! We know charlie is great at these races with his previous win at our very own memorial race also back in 2024! We never doubted you charlie and as a club we are very proud! 

Next we have Darren Grasby who is famously known for his Class 4 victories. Darren has been competing in the ever growing f600 class sicne last year. Darren recently was racing in the class using son, Dylan Grasbys car whilst he was still in juniors but this year they now compete agaisnt eachother. Sadly Dylan didn't make the final this year but to be at the Men's nationals in his first year in men's is an achievement in itself. Darren came 6th in the final in the E202 Machine. 

Mitch wells... a name we have seen in class 8 for a few years now. Mitch competed last year at the Men's natioanls and brought home silverware. This year Mitch made the final again but saldy missed out on a trophy by 1 place getting 5th in this years final. Class 8 is one of the most competitive classes in the sport so well done Mitch!

A younger member of the club and do pardon the pun is Brandon Young in E223 who competes in class 10. Sadly his dad Phil Young took a tumble at the Nationals meaning he couldn't make the final but Brandon made the final and finished 6th. Well done!

Last but certainly not least was Matt Manning in E152 in Class 6. Matt was having a strong weekend and made the final joint 1st qualifier. Matt looked set on being crowned our Class 6 National champion leading the final until it was stopped. Matt was sadly black flagged from the re run!! Next year Matt it will be yours we know it!

Once again we are proud of all our members but next is the ladies and juniors turn!!

This years men's nationals was hosted by the South Wales League. We had a fantastic turn out of members representing us at the nationals. We had 15 drivers race throughout the weekend in a variety of classes. 

In Class one we had E100 of Andy Kelsey and E127 of Dan Hughes. Sadly neither of these drivers made the final but huge congratulations to them both for getting to the nationals flying our club flag. 

In Class three we had E34 Charlie Holloway racing his dad's car. Last year Charlie won the nationals in his five and had hoped he could do the same in the three. Sadly luck wasn't on his side meaning we didn't see Charlie in the Class three final. 

We also had Charlie racing in Class five aiming to retain his title. Again it wasn't meant to be but we saw Charlie racing in the final in his five giving it his all. 

Class nine we had Mark Barker E26 racing over the course of the weekend but unfortunately we didn't see him in the final. 

F600's we had two drivers qualify for the weekend E1 Darren Grasby who is famously known for being a Class four driver and E600 of  Lucas Amblard. We saw E1 in the national final and in many of those reruns! 

Class four we had a huge turn out of drivers!! E99 Harry Kelly, E220 Darren Grasby, E22 Graham Grasby and E73 David Kellly who wasn't originally on the list. Unfortunately these drivers didn't make the final but what a great turn out in one Class. 

Class six was Matt Mannings of E152 and he was one of our finalists and trophy winners! Matt placed 3rd in the final well done. 

Class eight was Mitch Wells E356 and he also was a finalist and a trophy winner! Mitch brought home 4th place well done. 

The final Class we had representing was Class ten. Two drivers E23 Phil Young and E121 Liam Grasby. Liam Grasby made it into the final and what a stormer he drove. After an incident he wasn't in the rerun but to make the final only in his 2nd year with the men that's certainly something! 

We are so proud of all our drivers, next stop the ladies and juniors!

In 2024 we hosted our annual Alf Cope Memorial meeting which is a one day meeting packed full of close racing from home and away drivers. Drivers battle it out in 2 heats within their class to make it to the final which they then have a chance to make it into the champion of champions race if they win their final. Both Men's and Ladies have a champion of champions race they can compete to be in. Uusally they are run seperatley for both men and ladies containing 12 classes in each race. This year due to the small numbers of ladies who wanted to compete in the race they went out with the men! Each year prize money and a trophy that has great history to tell is awarded to the two winners. 

Last year we saw both home drivers E9 of Charlie Holloway who races in Men's class 5 and E98 of Daisey Stephenson who races in Ladies Stockhatch. These two young racers battled it out all day racing in their own individual classes to make it into the champion of champions race! Charlie led the entire race practically from start to finish once he passed the classes who were lined up in front of him. Charlie a month later went on to win the Men's Nationals in Class 5, certainlty a fast racer in the mini pickup.

Daisey had to get passed one lady to be leading the ladies race but had to hold off the other classees who were challening her for that trophy spot. Even though Daisey wasn't competing against the men she still had a good go chasing them down and was pretty impressed with herself that she held off the Men's Stockhatch champion for majority of the race.
